The Gyeonggi Province Museum serves as a cultural playground for the people of Gyeonggi Province, preserving and transmitting the historical and cultural identities of the region. The museum naturally evolves into a cultural playground by offering diverse educational opportunities and fun experiences related to the history and culture of Gyeonggi Province. Notably, we provide programs for children and adolescents, fostering their independent learning and facilitating their growth through self-directed museum experiences that stimulate their innate senses and artistic sensibilities.
We tailor our educational programs to various age groups, ensuring that the needs of all visitors are met. “Inventions of the Prehistoric Age” is an excavation experience class for children. “It’s Gyeonggi” is a museum art educational experience program. We also offer a locally customized team project, “Yongin-style Sharing School,” for students in collaboration with the Gyeonggi Yongin Office of Education. Adults have access to various annual programs through clubs, including Museum University, Boudoir Crafts, Folk Painting, and Korean Paper Dolls. A teacher training program designed for professionals and a docent program for history teachers are available as well. Additionally, the museum reaches out to small elementary schools, special classes (or schools), and the elderly through the “Museum Outreach” program, offering education and experience opportunities.
